High School ESL Teacher Openings

 

Two full-time native teaching positions for primarily international program students at a prominent private junior-senior high school in Japan will become available starting on April 1st, 2009, as well as on January 25th, 2009.  We are located on the Nankai Line in Hashimoto, Wakayama (about 45 minutes from Namba, about 20 minutes from Kawachinagano). Applicants need to have a valid work visa (we can sponsor this) and TESOL certification, (preferably RSA or CELTA ) OR previous experience working in a junior high or high school setting.  We need teachers who are responsible, outgoing, and good team players.  Being able to speak with some Japanese language proficiency, or already living in this area or in Japan, are all big pluses. Class sizes are small.  Teachers are required to create lesson plans, give oral as well as written tests and grade their students.

 

Working hours are generally from 8:30-3:45 M-F, with some flex time off as a possibility.  All National Holidays are off.  Weekends, except for about 3 days a year, are also off.  Paid vacation periods are extensive!   Vacation and holiday periods total about 100 weekdays. Salary is around 3,000,000 yen per year.  Transportation costs to and from the school each work day are paid for by the school.

 

Phone interviews will take place from November 1st through November 30th. Final onsite school interviews will be from December 1st through 30th.
